Salt Lake Board of Realtors Updated Housing Numbers: An earlier post showed prices dipping, but the finalized data shows modest gains across most of the Wasatch Front. Single-family home prices are still edging up, even with high mortgage rates and tighter budgets. The main reason is simple: there just aren’t enough homes for sale. Utah’s population keeps growing, but inventory remains low because many homeowners are staying put with their 2–3% mortgages. Strong job growth, steady in-migration, and the area’s lifestyle appeal continue to fuel demand, keeping prices from slipping much. Davis County led the way with a 4.5% jump, followed by modest gains in Salt Lake, Utah, and Weber counties, while Tooele saw a slight dip. It’s not another housing boom—it’s a slow, steady market defined by scarcity.
